15-Day Grand Egypt Experience

Egypt From North to South

Experience the extraordinary breadth of Egypt on our most comprehensive private group journey—fifteen days connecting Cairo, Alexandria, the Faiyum, Upper Egypt, the Nile, the biblical land of Goshen, and the Red Sea.

The Grand Egypt Experience brings together the strongest elements of our biblical highlights, archaeology, Exodus, early Christian, and Nile itineraries in one remarkable journey.

Stand beneath the Great Pyramid, explore Mediterranean Alexandria, encounter the royal mummies, walk through the world of Joseph, sail the Nile, enter the tombs of the pharaohs, journey to Abu Simbel, explore Goshen and Tanis, and finish along the shores of the Red Sea.

For groups that do not want to choose between northern Egypt and the Nile, this is the tour that brings the whole story together.

EXPERIENCE THE FULL BREADTH OF BIBLICAL EGYPT

Egypt is a country of remarkable contrasts: Mediterranean coast and desert, fertile Delta and narrow Nile Valley, Old Kingdom pyramids and New Kingdom temples, the world of the patriarchs and the world of the early Church.

This fifteen-day itinerary gives your group enough time to experience those different worlds as one connected story. Cairo and Giza establish the ancient foundations. Alexandria adds Egypt’s Mediterranean and Christian heritage. The Faiyum introduces the Middle Kingdom landscape associated with Joseph. Upper Egypt and the Nile reveal the power of the pharaohs. Goshen, Tanis, and the Red Sea bring the journey back to the biblical story of Israel in Egypt.

The result is our broadest and most immersive Christian Egypt itinerary.

THE GRAND EGYPT EXPERIENCE ITINERARY

Journey from the Mediterranean to Nubia and from the pyramid fields to the biblical land of Goshen on a comprehensive fifteen-day exploration of Egypt.

This itinerary combines the historical progression and strongest experiences of our shorter tours while giving your group time to encounter the extraordinary regional diversity of Egypt.

Day 1: Across the Atlantic to Egypt
Today, tour members gather at their respective airports for the flight to Cairo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as we make our way toward the land of the pharaohs and the world of biblical Egypt.

Day 2: Arrival in Cairo
Ahlan! Welcome to Egypt. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, we’ll be greeted by our local representative and transferred to our Cairo hotel. After check-in, we’ll enjoy dinner and relax overnight, preparing for the remarkable journey ahead.

Day 3: Meet, Greet, Mummies & Christian Cairo
After breakfast, we’ll gather for a special orientation and teaching session introducing Egyptian chronology, biblical history, and the many regions we’ll encounter. Later, we’ll visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and come face-to-face with the royal mummies of ancient Egypt. As time permits, we’ll explore historic Coptic Cairo and its important Christian heritage.

Day 4: The GEM, Great Pyramid & Guardian of Giza
Our day begins at the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to extraordinary treasures spanning Egypt’s long history. Later, we’ll visit the legendary Giza Plateau, stand beneath the Great Pyramid of Khufu, explore the pyramid complex, and visit the Great Sphinx while discussing archaeology, engineering, geology, chronology, and the biblical world.

Day 5: Alexandria: From Alexander to the Early Church
Today we’ll travel north to the Mediterranean city of Alexandria. Our exploration may include the remarkable Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the Greco-Roman remains of Kom el-Dikka, the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Qaitbay Citadel overlooking the site of the ancient Pharos lighthouse. Throughout the day, we’ll discuss Alexandria’s Hellenistic importance, its Jewish community, its early Christian heritage, and the city associated with Apollos in the book of Acts.

Day 6: Pharaohs, Foundations & First Pyramids
Today we’ll travel south of Cairo to Saqqara and Dahshur. At Saqqara, the Step Pyramid of Djoser marks one of the great turning points in Egyptian architecture. At Dahshur, the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid allow us to trace the experimentation that led toward Giza and explore Egypt’s Old Kingdom world in greater depth.

Day 7: Faiyum Oasis & the World of Joseph
After breakfast, we’ll journey into the Faiyum, an agriculturally rich region closely connected with Egypt’s Middle Kingdom. Visits may include the mudbrick pyramids of Hawara and Lahun and the striking Meidum Pyramid. We’ll explore the 12th Dynasty, the lost capital region of Itjtawy, and the broader historical world often considered when studying Joseph’s life in Egypt.

Day 8: The Temples of Thebes & Embarkation on the Nile
This morning we’ll fly south to Luxor, ancient Thebes. We’ll explore the immense Karnak Temple Complex and the beautiful Luxor Temple, encountering the religious and political power of New Kingdom Egypt on a monumental scale. As cruise schedules allow, we’ll board our Nile ship and settle in for our journey south.

Day 9: Tut, Tombs & Towering Tributes
Today we’ll cross to Luxor’s west bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, Medinet Habu, and the Colossi of Memnon. The tombs and temples of ancient Thebes provide an extraordinary window into royal power, Egyptian religion, and the historical records left by the pharaohs. Later, we’ll return to the ship and sail south.

Day 10: Edfu, Kom Ombo & Life Along the Nile
After breakfast, we’ll visit the remarkably preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu. Later, we’ll explore Kom Ombo, an unusual twin temple dramatically positioned above the Nile. Between visits, enjoy the timeless river landscape as our ship continues toward Aswan.

Day 11: Abu Simbel & the Monumental Age of Ramses II
Today we’ll travel south to the breathtaking temples of Abu Simbel. Cut into the rock for Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, these enormous monuments provide one of Egypt’s most unforgettable expressions of royal power, religion, and imperial ambition. We’ll return to Aswan for our overnight.

Day 12: Philae, Aswan & Return to Cairo
Our final day in Upper Egypt includes a scenic boat ride to the island temple of Philae. As time and schedules allow, we’ll also see the Unfinished Obelisk and additional Aswan highlights before flying back to Cairo for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: From Goshen to the Red Sea
Today we’ll travel into the eastern Nile Delta—the biblical land of Goshen. We’ll explore Tanis, where fallen obelisks, colossal statues, temples, and royal tombs provide a remarkable glimpse into northern Egypt. As we discuss Israel’s years in Egypt and the geography of the Exodus, we’ll continue east across the desert toward the Red Sea for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Red Sea Reflection & Return to Cairo
After breakfast, we’ll gather along the Red Sea for a special final teaching and reflection session, drawing together the archaeology, geography, biblical history, and extraordinary range of places we’ve experienced. Enjoy time along the coast before we make our way back to Cairo for our final overnight.

Day 15: Farewells & Flights Home
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Cairo International Airport for our return flights home. After traveling Egypt from north to south, we leave with unforgettable memories and a much deeper understanding of the land, history, and archaeology behind the world of the Bible.
